Everglades National Parks is one of the most unique ecosystems in the world. A wonderland for the inshore angler. Although I’ve fished and guided all over South Florida the Everglades is where I’ve always spend by far the majority of my time. For the first timers fishing the Everglades I would highly recommend hiring a fishing guide simply due to how vast this place is. Finding fish here can be very difficult if you don’t have experience. I spend my teenage years out in the Everglades back country every chance I got trying to learn how to find and target specific species and dial in techniques to effectively catch them. My specialty is shallow water sight fishing. I never use any live bait, for me the thrill of fishing has always been the hunt. I want to see a fish and then try to catch it. Waiting with a bait out never got me excited, anyone can wait for a fish to start pulling on the end of the line and then reel the handle on their reel. The challenge of sight fishing is what has kept me coming back after 10 years. Depending on conditions and time of year we will target Snook, Tarpon, Redfish, Black Drum, Sheepshead, and Goliath Grouper. If you’ve never sight fished it can be very intimidating but with some determination, I promise we will go out there and catch some fish. I try my best to learn a little about every client before the trip so I can come up with a game plan based on experience level. I’d love to spend some time out there with you and show you the place I’ve fallen in love with and dedicated my life to at this point.
